This is a lecture done by the guy who popularized "print pushing" method. You know how wearing glasses makes your eyes worse (more curved)? There is an idea here to wear the opposite kind of glasses to make your eyes worse in the opposite direction to fix your eyesight. So if your eyes are curved so that you are nearsighted, you wear reading glasses when you read to bend them towards being farsighted.
The reason why your eyes have curved badly in the first place is explained by Dr. Jack Kruise in >>14 (must watch). For those reasons getting sunlight in your eyes also reverses myopia

49AsclepiusThe bates method suggested sun gazing for myopia, back in 1891. Most people probably just do the eye exercises he suggested and not the palming + sun gazing. I doubt the eye exercises actually do anything/much
