My 4chan posts
543anthonyFor the sake of having an archive for myself, and potentially for the entertainment of others, I'm going to post archive links to some 4chan threads I participated in here. I intend to come back later to play around with formatting, maybe screenshot a few posts, generally just test what can be done with this site. For now I'll leave links.
The image I'm using as a thread starter is a post that actually found its way back to me on twitter. I didn't take this screencap but it got around and eventually someone recognised my writing and brought it to my attention. I know there are people out there who enjoy my writing so maybe this thread will be of some interest.

Algeria Thread, where I first really started consciously hammering out my current position on politics, which is that 99% of the planet are spiritual third worldist communists even if they don't know it. Even if not especially most of the elements identified as of the "right".

Dead Rising thread, contains what one anon called "the most accurate post on 4chan about the dead rising series". I'm easy to spot, I'm one of the only people talking about the game. I like Dead Rising a lot and think the point of the games was lost on most people who played. Also a secondary point of interest here, and a recurring theme when I try to take something seriously on 4chan, is how angry a lot of people get in response to me. Not for disagreeing with particular ideas they have, but just for having my own ideas of this much substance. People find it upsetting.
Honestly a pretty awful thread on the whole, but I find the generally poor quality of /v/ interesting. *How* it's bad is interesting.

Another Dead Rising thread. I tried recycling an Amarna post here to see how /v/ would react to this level of nuance. Not super interesting but It's there.
As you can see I really love Dead Rising and mean to write about it at length at some point in the future.

Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 are two of my favourite games. In this thread I try to lay out how I see them as one one greater coherent story and the things I see going on within these stories. Subtext, inspirations, intentions. Again, the reactions are mostly negative, but not "no it's actually...", more like "fuck you stop what you are doing at once".
A lot of self professed fans of various works of media/art DON'T WANT YOU TAKING IT SERIOUSLY. This happens constantly when I post on 4chan and consider these threads worth a look just to observe and contemplate this phenomena.
I really loved Silent Hill and taking it seriously enough to consider the full possibilities of the intentions behind every deliberately crafted piece of it I think flows naturally from this. From here I have to figure, am I one of the only people who really loves Silent Hill?

Here's a nice pikmin thread, in which I wrote half of the posts on my phone for whatever reason. You can see my capitalisation and punctuation slip a bit. Pikmin, like Dead Rising, is a game that nailed several kinds of fun, most of which were never really attempted by anybody again afterwards.

This was an interesting thread about The Evil Within. I never cared *that* much about these games, but liked 1 and disliked 2. I got into this interesting thing with a shitposter in this thread where basically I'd try to take the subject as seriously as possible while he'd try to be as petty and stupid as possible and we both keep this up for a while as a kind of deliberate game. This challenge ended up drawing a solid amount of writing out of me. I did like this game, but probably saved the thread more as an example of strange ways people can behave on /v/.
What happens if you try to feed a troll as much as possible while taking yourself and the subject at hand seriously without compromise? This thread happens. Was an interesting time.
